Strong in Everyday Nursing:
Understanding and unlocking protective factors
Our EU-project aims to better understand the challenges faced by nurses, provide effective support, and strengthen their resilience – especially in stressful situations at work.
Resilience means being able to adapt well to stress so that mental health is maintained or quickly restored.
Nurses experience the realities of care firsthand, and that makes their perspectives especially valuable to us!
What is the study about?
We want to explore what helps nurses stay mentally strong and how stress
– both at work and in everyday life – affects their mental well-being.
You can participate if you:
- work as a nurse in a hospital,
- are between 18 and 65 years old,
- currently work at least 10 hours per week, and
- have access to an internet-enabled device.
You cannot participate if you:
- are currently in an acute psychological crisis (e.g., acute suicidal thoughts), or
- have schizophrenia or another psychotic disorder.
You will receive financial compensation, which increases the longer you stay in the study –
up to €106 in total.
Your participation will help us develop targeted resilience training programs for nursing staff in the future.
The entire study takes place online — you can participate via computer, laptop, or tablet.
Every two months, you’ll receive a link to a short online questionnaire.
The study runs for 2.5 years (16 survey rounds in total).
The first questionnaire takes about one hour and includes some general questions (e.g., age, gender).
After that, short surveys (15–20 minutes) alternate with longer ones (about 45 minutes). Short surveys occur every two months, longer ones every ten months.
The study complies with all applicable data protection regulations and medical confidentiality requirements
All your information will be treated strictly confidentially.
We’re happy to hear from you!
